My backstory

When I was in 6th grade, I experienced a concussion which affected my eyesight horribly. I currently have an acuity of 20/200 with correction, which makes many things in my life just a little bit more challenging. Even though it sucks occasionaly, I find that I am able to push through those obstacles. Performing helps me keep my mind off of the blurriness, reminds me that I can still achieve anything, despite my disability. I think many people agree that music can be like a great escape. Music is something you can easily get lost in, which makes it special. My goal as a performer is to encourage the audience to listen, because most of my life, I have relied more on my ears than most. Hopefully people can view the world in a new perspective with my performances.

I am also a violinist! I started my violin journey in 5th grade at Westrbooke Elementary School. Since then, I played throughout my time in public school. I took a break in college until Summer 2024, when I joined the Video Game Music Ensemble at UCF and it reunited my love for the instrument. Since Spring of 2025, I have been performing with the Symphony Orchestra at UCF and I hope to one day have a spot in a professional orchestra, play at weddings, and gig around with violin as well as with percussion. I also play cello in UCF’s University Orchestra.

I am a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo! I have been trained for 15 years at Victory Martial Arts and I worked as an Assistant Instructor 2021-2024 (college got me busy). I joined the UCF Taekwondo team in spring of 2024. I feel that Martial Arts has truly helped me when it comes to performing. As someone who has competed individually in the sport and has been a team member of a National winning Demo Team, I grew up in front of the crowd. Teaching has also built my confidence when it comes to playing music for people.

Everyone has butterflies. Some people just know how to organize them better than others

Hello, my name is Emmaline! I am a Music Performance Major at UCF, currently studying Percussion. I live in Orlando Fl and plan on playing beautiful music here for the majority of my career.

I have always loved percussion. I remember when I was very little, I would lightly hit objects, such as tables and chairs, just to see what they would sound like. Even now, I see that percussion allows me to have a curious, open mind.
